Tales of a 40+ Year Old Cosplayer
This is me in 1989.
Here’s another of me, this time in 2014.
I haven’t been in the U.S. Army for 23 years, but I’m wearing the same outfit. Now, I’m a cosplayer! The 2014 picture was taken at Ohayocon in January with the awesome anime voice-actor Vic Mignogna.
This is a closet cosplay, with just a couple pieces added onto stuff I already owned, but it took a bit for me to get to this point. I chronicled that particular journey on my old blog. It’s a whole lifestyle-change kind of thing, with weight loss as key to fitting back into those old uniforms, trying something new, creating LED props, all that stuff.
New posts will go here, as I try to take things to the next level somehow, with original cosplay outfits and stuff. Check it out!
